Happy new year !

Just a few words to wish you a very happy new year! Take care of yourself and of your environment to help the pace of global warming slow down.

Indeed, usually at this time of the year, I can make photos of snowy landscapes. Not this year. Instead, we have a lot of rain!  I can’t  make pictures and I feel very very frustrated. But beyond  this very selfish complaint, I realize we all lose opportunities to go walking in the woods and breathe some fresh air, relax and forget everyday business.

So, if we all make a small effort, it will be possible to reduce  pollution and appreciate fabulous moments that nature offers us.

Solar activity increasing

As you can see in the “Astronomy” pages, I often make photos of the Sun. I use a special filter I had bought for the 1999 total eclipse. I follow news of the sun on Soho website and when the weather allows it, I make a few shots.

Mini landscape

Walking in the woods yesterday, I found a small ants colony, certainly recent because Southern wood ants can built nests up to 2 m high! A real mini town… I followed the workers up to a pine tree I still have to identify for sure. You will find a detail of the tree in the “Abstract” gallery . The cracks in the bark made me think of a canyon.

A little farther, along the path, a tree lying down was sheltering a big yellow mushroom with a tiny spider between its layers. There are times where I’d like to become a Minimoy…
